Outdoor lantern pendant light Tournai 1 light, 40 cm, chain

The Tournai lantern in porch size

A finial ring holds the chain; beneath it, the cap is flanked by scrolls curling outwards. The moulded cornice overhangs pointed-arch panes of bubbled glass, and a small spike finishes the base. Material: cast aluminium in a Londonderry tint, a patinated dark brown. The manufacturer describes it as handmade.

One bulb, shelter required

E27 lampholder for a bulb of up to 60 W, not included. A clear filament LED shows off the glass and lights the doorstep well. A dimmer can soften the light if the bulb is dimmable. With an IP23 rating, the lantern can cope with slanting rain under a porch but must stay under cover: do not install it in an exposed position.

Fixing and height under a porch

The body measures 40 cm, and the total height can reach 140 cm with the chain; according to the manufacturer, it can be adjusted up to that length. At just 3.6 kg, a sturdy ceiling hook is enough. Class I, earth to be connected. Under a porch, leave at least 2 m of clearance beneath the lantern.
