About this light

This square recessed LED panel is the mid-size format in the Groove range: 16.8 cm wide and 3.5 cm thick. It looks like a white light plate with no visible bulb, giving even illumination. With 2450 lm from 20 W in 3000 K warm white, it can light a small space on its own (hallway, WC, utility room) or form a line in a larger room.

Description

A 16.8 cm square of light

Seen from below, the panel is reduced to a slim white aluminium and metal border around a flat diffuser. Light comes from the whole surface with no bright spot: a soft result without harsh shadows, practical above a walkway.

Output, colour temperature and suitable rooms

The 20 W LED module, supplied, delivers 2450 lm in 3000 K. According to the British retailer, it comes with its driver built in. With an IP40 rating, which does not protect against water, the panel is intended for rooms sheltered from water; in a bathroom, it is only permitted on the ceiling, well away from the shower and bath.

Installation in a shallow false ceiling

Its 3.5 cm thickness makes it useful under suspended ceilings where space is limited. At 0.54 kg, it stays light for a plasterboard panel. The cut-out size is not specified: check it in the instructions before drilling. Align the panel with the centre line of the room, or centre it in a small space.
