Fabrycio black square surface-mounted spotlight IP44, 7.6 cm cube, GU10 cap

A black cube with crisp edges

Fabrycio takes the surface-mounted spotlight and gives it a square form. The matt black aluminium and steel housing has four flat sides and an underside with a round window, where the bulb sits recessed. Installed in a row above an island or along a hallway, it creates a line of small geometric volumes.

Downward light, splash resistance

The GU10 lampholder takes a bulb of up to 50 W, to be bought separately; a dimmable 3000 K GU10 LED is enough for accent or passage lighting, and the light can then be used with a dimmer. Rated IP44, the spotlight withstands humidity and splashes from a washbasin: it can be used in a bathroom outside the shower zone, or under a roof overhang.

Dimensions and positioning

It projects only 9.6 cm below the ceiling, with a footprint of 7.6 cm per side. As it is not recessed, it suits concrete ceilings and rooms without a false ceiling. Above a worktop, place the spotlights about fifty centimetres from the wall so that the light falls in front of you rather than behind you.
