Dance wall spot light, sand-textured black, exposed E27 lampholder

Sand-textured black steel and exposed lampholder

The photo shows a set-up pared down to the essentials: a round base fixed to the wall, a sleeve that carries the lampholder, and nothing around the bulb. The mild steel has a black sand-textured finish, matt to the touch, which catches little reflection. With no lampshade, the shape of the bulb defines the look of the light: an amber globe gives it a workshop feel, while a clear bulb gives a crisper result.

An E27 bulb of your choice

The E27 lampholder accepts a bulb of up to 40 W, which is not supplied with the spot light. The fitting is stated as dimmer-compatible: to take advantage of this, choose a dimmable bulb. As the light source remains visible, choose a 2700 K filament LED to limit glare. IP20 rating: for dry rooms only.

Size and fixing

The spot light is 8 cm wide and projects 12.5 cm from the wall, and weighs 0.17 kg: a standard wall fixing is enough. Above a bedhead or in a hallway, position it at about 1.60 to 1.80 m from the floor; in a series of two or three, it marks out a passage.
