About this light

Grey articulated desk lamp: in this colour, the Truman recalls the painted sheet-metal workshop lamps of the 1950s. Its two-part arm, brass joints and white enamelled shade direct the light onto a typewriter, a sketchbook or a keyboard. It stands 53 cm high.

Description

Putty grey and golden joints

The base, arm and reflector are made of metal painted light grey, a shade close to putty that goes well with wood, concrete or leather. Brass tightening knobs punctuate the joints. Under the shade, the white enamel brightens the light and sends it downwards.

Adjustable task lamp

The retailer states that the arm and head tilt: you bring the light source closer to what you are reading or writing, then raise it to light a wider area. E27 lampholder, 60 W maximum, bulb to be purchased separately. Avoid overly powerful clear bulbs, which are visible when the shade is raised. As for the rating, IP20: study, indoor workshop, bedroom.

Stability and footprint

The 17.5 cm round base and the weight of 2.38 kg give it a solid footing, even with the arm extended forwards. Leave a few centimetres behind the lamp so that the arm can be folded back.
