Aegean polished nickel table lamp with openwork base and pleated lampshade

A silvery, mirror-like metal

Applied to steel, polished nickel reflects the room almost like a mirror and looks cooler than brass. It highlights the design of the base: a series of slim hoops joined in an oval above a round foot, extended by a stem up to the lampholder. The cut glass bobeche, just beneath the lampshade, echoes the reflections of the metal. The off-white pleated fabric keeps the light diffuse.

Light source and recommended rooms

A single E27 lampholder, rated for a maximum of 60 W; the bulb is not included. The brightness is fixed. With this cool metal, a 3000 K LED gives a slightly whiter light, while a 2700 K bulb remains softer. IP20: living room, bedroom or study, but not a bathroom.

Placing a 3.6 kg lamp

Its weight of 3.6 kg and round base anchor it firmly on a sideboard or chest of drawers. It measures 36 cm in diameter, lampshade included, and 58 cm in height: on a narrow console table, check that the fabric does not rub against the wall. Plug into an earthed socket, as the lamp is Class I.
