About this light

Retro grey desk lamp from the Franklin range, painted in a tarpaulin grey enamel, a neutral shade that pairs well with light wood, black or concrete. Description

Tarpaulin grey, domed base and ribbed neck

The tarpaulin grey covers the dome lampshade and the round base, two pieces in enamelled steel. A polished chrome arch links them, tracing a semicircle to the side, which leaves the underside of the lampshade clear. The ribbed neck at the top of the dome and the white interior echo the look of industrial lamps of old.

Task and reading light

The dome directs the light down onto the desk and limits glare. You will need an E27 bulb, not included, up to 60 W; the Franklin works at a fixed intensity. For a workstation, a neutral white LED helps you read for long periods without tiring. With an IP20 rating, it can be used in a study, bedroom or living room, but not in a damp room.

Where to place it

You need a surface at least 30 cm wide, and should allow 36 cm of projection from the arch to the front of the dome. At 46 cm high, the lampshade sits just above eye level when seated. The lamp's weight of 3.69 kg stops it from tipping over.
