Small Bankers lamp, antique brass, green glass shade, 25 cm

The green glass of the reading rooms

The green glass lampshade, a flattened half-cylinder, is held at its ends by a curved bar that also serves as a handle at the back. A thin stem links it to the turned base, made up of rings and mouldings, resting on a round stepped foot. The metal has an oxidised finish, close to antique brass, reminiscent of a solicitor's furniture.

Light cast down onto the table

The lamp takes an E14 cap bulb, 40 W maximum. The tinted glass does little to light the room: the light goes mostly towards the work surface, which suits reading in the evening. A small warm white LED is enough. Switch on the 200 cm transparent cable. Dry rooms only (IP20).

A bedside size

25 cm high, 19 cm in diameter, 0.8 kg: it fits on a bedside table, between a stack of books and an alarm clock.
