The steel base resembles a small piece of joinery: straight uprights joined by crossbars, on a square stepped foot. The lampshade, a wide, shallow cone, echoes these lines with strips of amber and cream glass arranged in rays and a red band near the edge, held by dark metal tabs. Netlighting describes it as handmade, and mentions a vintage bronze patina for the base.

Weight and placement

At 7.65 kg and 57.2 cm tall, the lamp has a low centre of gravity and sits firmly on its base. Position it so that the edge of the lampshade is at shoulder height when you are seated, so that the bulbs are not visible.
