The steel, in a brushed nickel finish, has a satin appearance with no mirror effect. The domed head, edged with a slight rim, is connected to the curved arm by a ball joint; a second joint links this arm to the column. The manufacturer describes the arm as adjustable, so the head can be positioned above the area to be lit.

LED task lighting

No bulb to change when you buy it: the 7 W LED is integrated and included. Rated E on the energy label, it produces a light that the cup-shaped head directs down towards the worktop. The brightness is adjusted with the dimmer built into the base, not an external dimmer. IP20 rating, for use indoors in dry areas.

On a desk or by the bed

The base takes up little space, at 20 cm wide, but the arm carries the head forward, over the table, for a total depth of 48 cm. The lamp is 53.3 cm high. Place it next to the screen or notebook, with the head above the page. It weighs 2.3 kg. The Thompson range is also available as a floor lamp.
