About this light

The Porter table lamp pares lighting back to the essentials: a vertical steel tube in an antique brass finish, topped with an E27 lampholder where an exposed bulb is screwed in. At just 6 cm wide, it takes up very little space. Paired with a decorative filament bulb, it gives retro-style ambient lighting on a shelf or desk.

Description

A cylinder of patinated metal

The body is a smooth steel cylinder, with no lampshade or protruding base. Its antique brass finish has a muted golden tone. The lampholder at the top leaves the bulb fully visible: it is the bulb that gives the lamp its character.

Choosing the bulb

The E27 bulb is not included, and the maximum power is 10 W, which points towards an LED. A globe bulb with an amber filament, as in the photo, gives a golden light with little glare. Simple on/off switching, no dimming. Class II, dry indoor use (IP20).

Where to put it

Its 6 cm width means it fits on the edge of a shelf, a mantelpiece or the corner of a desk. In twos or threes, in different finishes, it makes a small cluster of light.
