A pier lantern in cast aluminium
In the photo, the cylindrical lantern rests on a moulded foot that widens into a square base. The black scrolls form an openwork pattern in front of the clear glass, and the conical cap ends in a small finial.
Light all around and IP23 rating
Light comes out all around the cylinder: it illuminates the top of the wall, the ground at the foot of the pier and signals the entrance from afar. The bollard light takes an E27 bulb of 60 W maximum, which you buy separately, and works with a dimmer if the bulb is dimmable. As for protection, IP23: rain falling up to 60° from the vertical will not affect it, but water sprayed from the side, by a sprinkler for example, should be avoided. Earthed connection required (Class I).
Fitting on a low wall or pier
34 cm high, 15 cm wide and 21.5 cm deep, it weighs 1.3 kg. The base needs a flat, masonry surface; plan for the electrical supply to be recessed into the masonry up to the base. On a gate, a pair of bollard lights placed on the two piers frames the access.
