Tournai garden floor lamp, 1-light lantern, 110 cm

A short post beneath an ornate lantern

The shaft, punctuated with moulded rings, flares out at its base, which the manufacturer describes as hexagonal. At the top, the faceted lantern carries scrolls and a finial; its clear bubbled glass panes are framed by pointed arches. The cast aluminium has a Londonderry finish, a dark, patinated brown.

An E27 bulb under glass

A single E27 lampholder, 60 W maximum, bulb sold separately. At hip height, a low-power LED is enough to light the way without dazzling. With a dimmable LED, it can also be connected to a dimmer. IP44 rated, it withstands rain in the open garden, far from any shelter.

Positioning along a path

At 110 cm tall and 19.1 cm in diameter, it fits neatly along the edge of a lawn. Its 5.58 kg can be fixed to a slab or a concrete block; run the buried cable through a duct before installation. Class I appliance, earth connection required. Space several floor lamps a few metres apart to mark out a path.
