Sensor built into the wall plate
Under the arm, the black wall plate houses the passive infrared (PIR) sensor that switches the light on as you approach. There is no need to add a separate detector on the facade. Above it, the upward-facing lantern features the clear glass panes set in lead, the curved pavilion roof and the finial of the Norfolk range. The body is cast aluminium, with a black finish guaranteed against corrosion by the manufacturer.
Bulb and exposure to rain
E27 lampholder for a bulb of up to 60 W, not included. We recommend an LED, which reaches full brightness immediately each time the light is triggered. The IP43 rating protects it from rain falling at an angle, but not from splashing water: a spot under an overhanging roof suits it better than an exposed gable. Class I appliance, to be connected to earth.
Dimensions and sensor position
Allow for a height of 47 cm, a width of 18.4 cm and a projection of 29.5 cm, with a weight of 1.8 kg. Install it at about 1.80 m above the ground, beside the door, on the wall facing the approach path, so that the sensor sees visitors arriving.
