Square polymer lantern with polycarbonate panes
The Kerry takes its inspiration from the English street lantern: a four-sided roof, a small finial turned beneath the base and four slightly flared sides. Everything is moulded in black polymer, a material that does not oxidise, and the panels are clear polycarbonate, which is more impact-resistant than glass. The manufacturer gives a 20-year guarantee against corrosion, which matters in a marine climate, where salty air attacks metal.
Porch lighting
One E27 bulb of up to 60 W, not included, lights up through all four sides. Fitted with a dimmable bulb, the lantern can be adjusted with a dimmer. Rated IP44, the pendant light withstands rain; the fixing point, however, should be under cover: eaves, porch ceiling or covered pergola.
Chain, weight and height
The lantern hangs at the end of a chain attached to a ceiling rose. The light measures 51 cm high; with the chain, the total height can be adjusted from 62.5 to 73 cm. It weighs 2.61 kg and is 20.5 cm wide. Double insulation (Class II): no earth wire is needed. Keep at least 2 m of clear headroom beneath the lantern.
