Lantern hanging from a bracket
Unlike the larger models wrapped in scrolls, this version hangs its lantern from the end of a curved arm, like a shop sign. The lantern widens towards the top, crowned with moulded foliage, and ends at the bottom in a decorative point. Cast aluminium in a Londonderry finish, a patinated brown with lightened edges; panes of clear bubbled glass. The manufacturer states that it is handmade.
Two E14 bulbs of your choice
Two E14 lampholders, up to 60 W each. The wall light is sold without bulbs: a pair of clear LED candle bulbs at 2700 K gives a golden light that shows off the glass. A dimmer can control the brightness if the LED bulbs chosen are dimmable. The IP44 rating makes it suitable for a wall exposed to rain, with no shelter required.
Dimensions and installation
25.4 cm wide with a 37.5 cm projection: the arm extends well out, so leave a good margin from a shutter or a door that opens outwards. At 7.18 kg, heavy-duty wall plugs in a solid wall are sufficient. Class I, with earth wire. Fit it at about 1.80 m above the ground, beside the door, or as a pair on either side.
