Choosing a chandelier for the dining room
The chandelier is the statement light par excellence: several arms or crystal drops give generous, sparkling light. In the dining room, the table is the focal point: it should be well lit without dazzling guests.
Size and ceiling height
Make sure the ceiling is high enough: a chandelier should leave at least 2.10 m of clearance, or hang above a table. To estimate the diameter, add the room’s length and width in metres and read the result in centimetres.
Show off the table
Centre the light on the table rather than the room, and choose warm white that flatters food and faces.
