Choosing a wall light for the hallway and entrance

A wall light complements the main lighting: it adds rhythm to the walls, lights a passage or creates soft indirect light. In a hallway or entrance, light should guide the way without glare, using low-profile fittings.

Mounting height and projection

Wall lights are usually fixed 1.60 to 1.80 m above the floor, or lower beside a bed. In a passage, check how far the light projects; an adjustable head lets you direct light up, down or onto a painting.

Avoid dark spots

Spread several light points along the length and make sure there is enough light near the mirror and the front door.
