A pendant light provides both practical light and real decorative presence: it is often the centrepiece of a lighting scheme. In the bedroom, light should stay soft and calming, with reading light near the bed.

Height and diameter

Above a table, allow 75 to 85 cm between the bottom of the pendant and the tabletop; where people walk underneath, keep at least 2.10 m of clearance. Choose a diameter of roughly half the table width.

Calming light

Choose warm white (around 2,700 K) and diffusers that prevent glare when you are lying down.
