Chance bathroom ceiling light with opal glass and brass cage, 2 lights

An opal glass shade in a brass cage

The photo shows a milky white glass, slightly flared towards the bottom, held by a painted steel frame in a natural brass colour: a wide ring against the ceiling, a narrower ring under the shade, and vertical uprights linking them. The glass hides the bulbs and spreads the light throughout the room.

Two E27 lampholders for a soft light in the bathroom

The ceiling light takes two bulbs with an E27 cap, 60 W maximum each, to be bought separately; with dimmable bulbs, it can be used with a dimmer. The opal shade avoids harsh shadows above the washbasin. Rated IP44, it withstands steam and splashes: it belongs on the bathroom ceiling, away from the shower cubicle and not above the bath. Class I: earth connection required.

Dimensions and installation height

At 32.7 cm in diameter and 13.6 cm in height, it stays low under a standard ceiling. Fixed directly to the ceiling, it weighs 2.85 kg: allow for fixings suited to the surface, and room to remove the shade to change the bulbs.
