Brass stem and rimmed globe

An opal glass sphere with a brass collar, a slim stem, a round wall plate: the Hollis borrows from the vocabulary of English workshop lamps. The heritage brass has a patinated golden tone, neither shiny nor dull. The stem continues below the fixing for a good length, which stretches the silhouette to 40.3 cm. The light projects 19 cm from the wall.

Light source and permitted parts

E14 lampholder, 40 W maximum, and no bulb in the box: fit it with a warm-toned LED, a dimmable type if a dimmer controls it, which the model allows. Its IP44 rating makes it suitable for the bathroom, above a basin or near a bath without being directly over it; the shower itself remains off limits. It is Class I and therefore requires an earthed supply.

Placement in the room

The wall light weighs 1.02 kg. The most common arrangement is a pair on either side of the mirror, with the globe slightly above eye level. In a corridor, repeat it every two metres at shoulder height for even lighting.
