Black cast metal and glass globe
The cap of the Shipston, in black cast aluminium, fully covers the globe: its wide collar protects the glass from the rain. Above it, a small chimney pierced with slots and ringed with mouldings recalls ships' lanterns. The round clear glass globe lets the light through while softening the glare of the bulb. The right-angled arm screws onto a round wall plate.
An E27 bulb of your choice
The light takes a 60 W E27 bulb, sold separately. With a transparent globe, opt for a decorative bulb: an opal globe shape for a diffused light, or a visible filament for a vintage look. With its IP44 rating, the lantern withstands the rain, on a façade as well as under a canopy. It can be controlled by a dimmer, with a dimmable E27 bulb.
Proportions and positioning
26.8 cm high and 21.5 cm wide, it projects 24.2 cm from the wall and weighs 1.08 kg: a medium-sized lantern, in scale with a front door or a garage door. Mount it between 1.70 and 1.80 m above the ground, one on each side of the door if you are fitting two. Class I light, with earth conductor.
