Galvanised steel with a black finish
According to the manufacturer, the steel is hot-dip galvanised before receiving a black paint finish: the black therefore covers a galvanised base. The arm starts from a round wall plate, rises, then curves back down to the lantern. Three discs of decreasing diameter, beneath a dome, surround a clear polycarbonate globe that leaves the bulb visible.
Light and protection
A single E27 lampholder, rated for 60 W at most; the bulb must be supplied separately. Beneath the tiered shade, the light passes through the globe and between the discs. For an entrance, a warm white LED with a visible filament is a good choice. IP55 rating: dust and water jets will not stop it, even without a canopy. Class II, no earth connection.
Projection, weight and fixing
Seen from the front, it fits within a 27 cm square and projects 39.5 cm. At 2.64 kg, wall plugs suited to the surface are sufficient on a solid wall; on external insulation, allow for a fixing spacer. A height of about 1.80 m places the lantern above head height without moving it away from the doorstep.
