Emilio matt white cube surface-mounted spotlight, GU10 cap, 8 cm sides

White housing and matching ring

Everything is white: the aluminium and steel cube, its crisp edges, and the round ring surrounding the bulb under the housing. Only a small grey screw punctuates one side. Mounted on a white ceiling, the spotlight creates no dark spot and is only really noticeable once lit.

Choosing the bulb

No bulb is supplied with the spotlight. Its GU10 lampholder accepts up to 50 W, but an LED with this cap is more than enough and gives off little heat. For a bedroom, aim for 2700 K; for a kitchen, 3000 or 4000 K. With its IP20 rating, Emilio is intended for dry rooms, or for bathrooms at a height and distance where water never reaches it.

9.5 cm below the ceiling

The housing drops 9.5 cm and is surface-mounted, which makes it possible to add light points to a room without a false ceiling. In a bedroom, two spotlights on either side of the bed, directly above the bedside tables, are a worthwhile replacement for a central ceiling light.
