Ottoman table lamp with bronze porcelain ball base and ivory lampshade

A porcelain ball in a mirror-bronze finish

The base is a slightly flattened porcelain sphere, covered with a metallic bronze glaze that reflects the room like a dark mirror. A short light metal neck connects it to the lampholder. The ivory lampshade, round and flaring towards the bottom, is topped with a small metal finial.

Ambient light with an E27 cap

The E27 lampholder takes a bulb of up to 60 W, to be purchased separately. A frosted or filament LED in 2700 K gives a soft tone that brings out the reflections of the glaze. It is switched on with an inline switch on the cable. The lamp is Class I: plug it into an earthed socket.

Dimensions and weight

With its 46 cm spread, the lampshade needs a fairly deep piece of furniture and a little distance from the wall. At 4.9 kg it is very stable: a quick pass or a brush will not tip it over. Placed as a pair on either side of a sideboard, it frames a mirror or a painting.
