Javier Black 3-Light Pendant Light with Smoked Glass Shades on a 90 cm Bar

Black bar and graduated glass shades

The fixing is a long, slim black metal ceiling plate. Three black cables run down from it to cylindrical black bodies, each surrounded by a smoked glass shade whose colour goes from dark grey at the top to almost clear at the bottom. The contrast of black and grey makes for a graphic look that sits comfortably in a white or wooden kitchen.

Bulbs: three E27 bulbs required

The light is sold without bulbs. Its three E27 lampholders each accept a maximum of 60 W. For a soft, subdued effect, choose amber filament LED bulbs; to light a worktop, choose clear 3000 K LED bulbs. IP20 rating, to be kept in a dry room.

Installing above an island

The bar measures 90 cm in length and 20 cm in width; excluding the cables, the light is 35 cm high, and 120 cm at most once hung. Over an island, centre the bar along its length and keep the bottom of the shades 65 to 75 cm above the worktop to light the surface without blocking the view from the other side.
