About this light

This antique brass lantern floor lamp recalls the fisherman's lamp of old: a straight stem that curves into a crook and lets a lantern with a metal hood and clear glass globe hang from a hook. 161 cm tall, it casts light downwards, above a reading armchair or at the end of a sofa, in a nautical or country-style interior.

Description

A fisherman's lantern hanging from its crook

The silhouette starts from a round base on the floor, rises as a slim stem and curls over at the top like a cane. The lantern is hung from it by a small ring: a flared hood in antique brass finish metal, topped with a dome, and beneath it a clear glass globe that shows the bulb. The matt patina of the brass avoids an overly shiny gold look.

A downward light for reading

The light takes an E27 bulb of up to 60 W, bulbs not included. The hood directs the light towards the floor and the book. As the clear glass leaves the bulb on show, choose a decorative filament model, in LED 2700 K for a soft tone. IP20 rating: for use in dry rooms, such as the living room, study or bedroom. Class II, double insulated.

Size and positioning

Allow 43 cm in width, as the lantern overhangs the base: place the base beside the armchair so that the head sits above the seat. At 5.2 kg, the whole piece stays stable on the floor.
