The right height above the table

The bottom of a pendant is usually hung 75–85 cm above the tabletop: high enough to see across the table, low enough to light the plates. Choose a light roughly half the width of the table.

A warm atmosphere

Warm white light and a dimmer flatter the meal; add wall lights or a ceiling light for the rest of the room if needed.
